Reverse Effect juxtaposes several different voices into one piece to explore how the complex challenges facing Chicago's current waterway system can generate the rebirth of its riverfront. This book is a result of a collaboration between Studio Gang Architects, the NRDC and Harvard Design Graduates that was implemented upon NRDC calling for a barrier in the Chicago River to separate the Great Lakes and Mississippi Watersheds to prevent invasive carp from entering Lake Michigan. The collaborative group investigated and reported on how dividing the river could connect and recharge surrounding neighborhoods. Created in collaboration at Thirst.
